Car Hire Kingston
When your car hire period has come to an end and it’s time to return your hire car, you need to make sure you’re returning it in the condition and within the timescales specified in your car hire agreement.
For example, you may be required to return your hire car with a full tank of fuel. This is likely to be true if your hire care came with a full tank of fuel but you didn’t pay for it. Check your car hire agreement carefully, as if you fail to bring the hire car back with the correct amount if fuel in it, you may be charged a premium rate for the hire car company to do it.
You should also check your hire car thoroughly for any damage that may have occurred during the hire period. Even if you know you haven’t damaged the hire car yourself, if may still have been damaged without your knowledge, for example when it was parked overnight. So check the hire car carefully and report any unexpected damage to the car hire company.
Check the expected time of return for your hire car too. You will probably be charged a late fee if you return the hire car later than agreed. This could be as much as one day’s rental, so you’ll want to avoid this possibility. If you’re stuck in traffic or unavoidably delayed, contact the car hire company to explain the situation and see if they will negotiate a ‘grace period’ with you.
